Travis Taylor is one of my friends, he writes science fiction where more of the emphasis is on hard science, and follows some of the more advanced theories in relativity while doing so. The book is written along the lines of a standard threat assessment, along with some suggestions towards potential contingency plans. How likely is there to be another civilization out there? How likely are they to notice us? If they did, would they be likely to make contact, and if so, what would be their likely motives? If they were hostile, what, if anything, could we do about it?
