Yesterday, al-Anbar Province was turned over to the Iraqis, who will assume the primary responsibility for security in the area.
According to the Wall Street Journal,
The Anbar handover is above all a tribute to the hundreds of Americans who have fought and died in places like Fallujah, Ramadi and Hit over these last five years.

And what was that noise coming out of Harry Reid's mouth? Something about this war is lost? Oh, really.
The Marine!Goth saw a huge improvement between 2006 and earlier this spring. He was optomistic that this would happen this year. Glad to see the turnover stayed on track after he left.
